What We Grow
Leadership

Mathieu brings more than 20 years of leadership in Controlled Environment Agriculture to his role as President and CEO of Ontario Plants. His career has taken him from the Netherlands to North America, giving him both a global perspective and a practical understanding of what growers and clients need to succeed.
Before joining Ontario Plants, Mathieu served as Head of Business Development for a leading innovator in indoor farming, where he helped scale the business through partnerships and joint ventures. Earlier in his career, he held senior commercial roles within the horticultural sector in the United States and Europe, building strong client relationships and driving long-term growth across the industry.
At Ontario Plants, Mathieu sets the strategic direction for North America’s leading propagator of young plants. Under his leadership, Ontario Plants continues to expand its facilities, invest in innovation, and strengthen its role as a trusted partner to growers.
A third-generation greenhouse grower, Mathieu grew up in the industry and understands both the discipline of the family business and the opportunities of modern horticulture. He combines this foundation with a focus on innovation and partnerships, driving Ontario Plants’ long-term growth and shaping the future of sustainable propagation.

Pieter van Dijk is the Chief Technology and Innovation Officer at Ontario Plants. With 27 years of experience in the greenhouse industry, including as the owner-operator of a large-scale tomato production greenhouse in the Netherlands, Pieter has an in-depth understanding of the needs of Ontario Plants’ customers. Prior to joining Ontario Plants in early 2020, he served as Head Grower at the largest vegetable plant propagation company in the Netherlands. Pieter brings extensive experience in greenhouse operations, a global network of subject matter experts, and a strong focus on driving technological advancements and innovation to support the company’s continued growth.
