Mathieu van de Sande appointed as
CEO of Ontario Plants Propagation

  • Mathieu brings 20 years of leadership and commercial success in Controlled Environment Agriculture to the CEO role.

  • Rob Poultney appointed to expanded role of Chief Financial & Administrative Officer after leading company through period of strong growth.

St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada; Monday, 12 June 2023: Ontario Plants Propagation Limited (“Ontario Plants Propagation”), one of North America’s leading suppliers of high-quality starter plants to greenhouse growers, announces the appointment of Mathieu van de Sande as its new Chief Executive Officer from today. Mathieu has 20 years’ of leadership experience in Controlled Environment Agriculture and joins from Dutch-based
grower PlantLab.

Rob Poultney will have an expanded role as Chief Financial & Administrative Officer and will oversee financial and operational performance including the development of the company’s second site at Glencoe in Ontario. This follows Rob’s impressive leadership of Ontario Plants Propagation since its acquisition by COFRA Holding last year. Ontario Plants’ experienced management team will continue to lead the business, under COFRA’s ownership, from St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada.

Mathieu brings 20 years of leadership experience in Controlled Environment Agriculture, in North America and the Netherlands, to his new role of CEO. He joins from Dutch-based PlantLab, a leading indoor farmer, where as Head of Business Development he helped to scale the company through a series of partnerships and joint ventures. Previously, he served as sales or account manager for several US and Dutch based horticulture businesses.

St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada ; lundi, 12 juin 2023 : Ontario Plants Propagation Limited (ci-après « Ontario Plants Propagation »), l’un des leaders en Amérique du Nord du marché de fourniture de jeunes plants aux serristes, annonce la nomination de Mathieu van de Sande au poste de Chief Executive Officer à compter d’aujourd’hui. Mathieu est riche de 20 années d’expérience de leadership en agriculture en environnement contrôlé et travaillait jusqu’ici chez Plantlab, basée aux Pays-Bas.

Rob Poultney est nommé à un nouveau poste au rôle élargi de Chief Financial & Administrative Officer, dans le cadre duquel il supervisera les performances financières et opérationnelles de notre entreprise, et notamment le développement de notre deuxième site à Glencoe, dans l’Ontario. Cette nomination fait suite à l'impressionnant leadership qu’a assumé Rob au sein d’Ontario Plants Propagation depuis son acquisition par COFRA Holding, l'année dernière.

Mathieu apporte avec lui 20 ans d’expérience de leadership en agriculture en environnement contrôlé, en Amérique du Nord et aux Pays-Bas, dans ce nouveau rôle de CEO. Pour nous rejoindre, il quitte PlantLab, une belle entreprise basée aux Pays-Bas, qu’en tant que responsable du développement commercial, il a contribué à développer par le biais de divers partenariats et joint-ventures. Avant cela, il a occupé des postes de responsable des ventes ou de chargé de clientèle dans diverses entreprises spécialisées dans l’horticulture aux États-Unis et aux Pays-Bas.
