Water Conservation

45 acres of roof captures a lot of water and nearly eliminates the use of groundwater reserves. Advanced water filtration, treatment, and disinfecting technology is used to recycle and continuously re-use the irrigation water. Furthermore, Ontario Plants Propagation has invested in state-of-the-art fertilization and irrigation systems that use 90% less water than field-grown equivalents.

Energy

Ontario Plants Propagation’s greenhouses are built to maximize the use of natural sunlight. With the best glass in the world, allows for the highest possible uptake of carbon-free natural sunlight. Due to seasonal low natural light conditions, supplemental energy efficient high-pressure-sodium artificial lights are used. This ensures consistent production and quality through the winter months, while conserving energy.
